[MANKWENG POLICE INVESTIGATE MURDER AND HOUSE ROBBERY FOLLOWING A FATAL SHOOTING AT GA-THOKA VILLAGE] The #SAPS in Mankweng is investigating a case of murder and house robbery following a fatal shooting incident at Ga-Thoka village on Saturday 19 September 2026. At about 23:15, a 44-year-old male victim was asleep at his residence with his wife aged 40 when they heard movement inside the sitting room. It is alleged that the deceased went to investigate the noise and encountered unknown male suspects inside the house. He then returned to the bedroom and attempted to close the door. The suspects allegedly attempted to gain entry into the bedroom while the deceased tried to keep the door shut. During the confrontation, the suspects allegedly fired two shots through the door and they penetrated the deceased on the left side of the chest and he fell. Afterward, a 40-year-old wife went out to check on the children in the other bedroom. While inside, the unknown male suspects allegedly fired two additional shots at the children's bedroom and another into the bathroom before fleeing the scene. After the suspects had left, she discovered that a 55-inch smart television valued at R9.000 had been stolen from the house. The members of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned to the scene and certified the deceased dead upon their arrival. The suspects are currently unknown at this stage and a massive manhunt has been launched for their apprehension. Police investigations are continuing. #TrioCrimes #CommunityPolicing ST
