WARD 73 18 September 2026 | 18:25 Arena Park | Montford | Moorton Greetings Residents, I would like to clarify the water situation and address the notices issued by Councillor Fatima and myself. 1. The notices issued by Councillor Fatima and myself were not contradictory. Both notices were based on the information available to us at the respective times. 2. When I initially engaged with Management and followed up, I was advised that there would be no valve closure affecting our areas. However, Northdene, which feeds into Chats4 Reservoir, subsequently shut down due to low water levels. As a result, the valves supplying our areas were closed to allow Northdene to rebuild its capacity. 3. Kindly be advised that the valves are currently closed. The intention is for the valves to be reopened and water supply restored tomorrow morning, allowing Northdene sufficient time to rebuild its capacity. I apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate residents' patience and understanding. I will continue monitoring the situation and provide further updates as information becomes available.
