While conducting crime prevention patrols, #JMPD TRU officers were approached by a member of the public at the corner of Beatrice & Golden Highway in Lenasia South. The motorist informed the officers that he had been hijacked the previous day along Provincial Road & Golden Highway in Lenasia. He further advised that he had spotted his hijacked vehicle entering the Magson Manor residential area. The officers immediately followed up on the information provided, which led them to a house where the vehicle was found. A woman was found at the property & upon searching the premises, officers recovered the stolen motor vehicle. The victim was brought to the scene & positively identified the vehicle as his. The vehicle was subsequently seized & booked in at the Lenasia SAPS pound. During the search of the premises, officers also recovered a SAPS uniform which the woman could not account for. She was taken in for further questioning. While officers continued searching for the other suspects, members of the community alerted them after spotting the main suspect. A foot chase ensued, resulting in the apprehension of one male suspect. A second suspect, who was allegedly linked to the hijacking, later handed himself over to the police. The suspects were detained at Lenasia South SAPS where a case of possession of suspected stolen property was opened. #JoburgRoadSafety #BuyaMthethoManjeNamhlanje #SaferJoburg
