Good morning everyone I have a question for everyone. Shock of an electricity bill this month. Our complex Via Pollino is charging a FLAT RATE ALL DAY of R4.89 per kwh all day rate .with no differencein charge between peak / off peak and mid .. we are on Eskom tou ( winter rates ) currently June July August. Eskom went up by 12.7% recently we know this. The eskom tou winter rates are as follows Time-of-use period Rate (incl. VAT) Peak R6.30/kWh Standard R1.58/kWh Off-peak R1.05/kWh. Our electricity went up by 27% this past month in our complex compared to last months bill. Could I ask what your complexes are charging per kWh? Divide bill by usage ... would appreciate it as some complexes are nowhere near what our charges are.

The Douglasdale CPF is proud of the swift response by three of our patrollers, who assisted in safely locating a missing child during the early hours of Thursday, 9 July 2026. After receiving information that a child had been reported missing, our patrollers immediately responded and began searching the surrounding area. Their quick response resulted in the child being located safe and unharmed. Douglasdale SAPS was notified immediately and responded to the scene. Working together with SAPS and NCVT (The National Children and Violence Trust), the child was safely reunited with the family. This incident is another example of the valuable role our patrollers play in supporting Douglasdale SAPS and assisting our community. Whether responding to missing persons, suspicious activity or other incidents, they continue to volunteer their time to help keep the Douglasdale Policing Precinct safe. The CPF thanks Douglasdale SAPS, the social services professionals and everyone who assisted in bringing this incident to a safe conclusion. *We remind the community that there is no waiting period to report a missing child or any missing person to SAPS*. *Reporting a disappearance immediately can significantly improve the chances of a safe and successful outcome*.
