WATER SUPPLY UPDATE — REPAIRS NEAR COMPLETION 16 September 2026 | 16:20 Good afternoon, residents of Mountain View, Claremont, Daspoort, Hermanstad, Pretoria Gardens, and all other affected areas currently without water. As communicated earlier this morning, severe vandalism took place at the Hercules East Reservoir, causing significant damage to the infrastructure and disrupting the water supply to our communities. I have just spoken to the Bulk Water Team, who have informed me that they are almost finished with the repairs. Teams are currently installing flanges and new piping, and if all goes according to plan, this work should be completed within the next hour or so. Thereafter, the water supply will be reinstated. If the repairs hold and everything proceeds as expected, we are hopeful that water will begin returning to affected areas sometime this evening. Please note that it will take some time for the reservoir to replenish and for the water pressure and supply to fully normalise across all affected areas. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult situation. The teams are working to restore the supply as soon as possible. Councillor Leon Kruyshaar Ward 1 16 September 2026
